Logo Trends 2023b

Logo Design Trends of 2023

Your logo is a visual depiction of your brand. It has to be designed to stand out and be easily recognizable.

When you start your business – or are thinking of rebranding your current one – the last thing you want is for it to come dated quickly. It needs to be modern and timeless. The points below will help guide you in understanding the logo design trends of 2023.

Trend 1 – Minimalistic

We’ve all heard the saying “less is more” and with logo design, it can’t be more true. Instead of using lots of colours and too much detail, a minimalist logo design tends to consist of simple, easily readable fonts, a striking symbol and concept, and a limited colour palette.

The idea is to create a logo with just a few details creating a sense of breathing room for those seeing it. It needs to say a lot with a little. Fewer details also make the application of your logo more practical.

Trend 2 – Bright Colours and Gradients

Black and white logos will always have a place in design, but in 2023, logos will be characterised by a much more vibrant use of colour. Using a vibrant colour scheme may help your company connect with a younger demographic by sending the message that it’s energetic, modern, and enjoyable.
Although designers may amp up the hue, they will likely dial down on other aspects. Remember – we have to keep simplicity in mind too!

Hand -in-hand with the bright colours goes gradients. The gradient trend was popularized by Instagram in 2016 and when the social media platform changed its logo, it was first ridiculed. NY Times even described the logo as a travesty. After that, however, the internet has seen a flood of gradient logos.

Some brands, such as Apple Music and Firefox, are using a full-on gradient in their design. However, it can also be used more subtly and still achieve good transition effects, like Netflix using monochrome gradients.

Trend 3 – Handmade and Natural

In recent years, logo design trends have inclined towards modernization and digitization. Thus, many businesses believe that going back to a more vintage style will make their brands more distinguished. Logos with hand-made design provides an authentic feel to customers.

Pairing this hand-made design with natural-looking and organic shapes that don’t feel so rigid, is another way to give it more authenticity.

And natural doesn’t mean it needs to contain the actual image of a plant. It can be accomplished simply by relying on organic-looking elements. As another way to make it pop, consider adding some textures like wood, grain, or stone, that create subtle elements to refresh your logo.

Target Market First

With keeping the trends in mind, it is however very important to put your company’s target market first. If you follow trends but ignore the target market, your logo will be missing its mark. And how your logo will encompass your company’s vision and mission whilst keeping the target market in mind, also comes into play with a successful logo design.
